This approach is based on state-of-the-art technology and follows harmonised standards such as EN 301 549, as well as the internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and ISO 9241-171:2008. These regulations serve as a reference and guide for the design and provision of our services.
We are continuously developing bestwaystore.de to ensure a high level of accessibility. Below we list examples of measures taken to ensure accessibility on :
a) General measures for services
(1) Perceivability, operability, understandability and robustness
-
Perceivability
We primarily provide content as structured text that is reliably captured by screen readers. -
Usability
Standard navigation (tab order, forms) works predominantly via the keyboard. For more complex controls (e.g. modal dialogues, carousels), focus management is continuously optimised to ensure reliable usability without a mouse. -
Comprehensibility
Our texts and error messages follow a consistent, clear style. Technical terms are used sparingly, and context-sensitive help texts supplement the user guidance where processes are more complex. -
Robustness
Semantic HTML and ARIA attributes form the technical basis. In-house developed components are validated against current specifications to ensure broad support by assistive technologies.
(2) Provision of information
- Important information regarding the use of the shop and accessibility features is easy to find and presented in a clear manner.
- Information is displayed in a font of appropriate size, with suitable contrast and adjustable spacing.
(3) Support services
Our customer service team is trained to provide information on accessibility and compatibility with assistive technologies using accessible means of communication.
b) Specific measures for e-commerce services
(1) Accessible security features and payment services
Identification, authentication, security and payment features are designed to be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. This includes clear instructions, understandable error messages and support for keyboard navigation.
(2) Information on the accessibility of products
Where available from manufacturers, information on the accessibility of products for sale is provided or linked to.
c) Ongoing development
The accessibility of bestwaystore.de is an ongoing process. We pursue an approach of ongoing development and optimisation to ensure we always meet current requirements and the state of the art, and to improve the user experience for all our customers.

Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not fully accessible :
Our website is largely compliant with the requirements. There is only a small amount of content that makes it difficult for people with disabilities to access information. The content listed below is not fully accessible :
- Images and graphic elements do not always have clear alternative text, and in some cases alternative text is missing
- In some cases, the focusorder is not logical and the keyboard focus
- is
- not clearly visible
- Some controls on the website cannot be operated entirely via the keyboard
- Contrast levels for some elements may be insufficient
- Content in plain language or sign language is not yet available
- With certain screen readers , the main heading on confirmation pages is not focused on or read aloud when loading; instead, a subsequent element receives focus
- The animated content area at the top of
- the home page cannot be paused or stopped
- In the animated content area at the top of the home page, keyboard navigation is difficult to follow – even non-visible content is focused
- Mobile search: Keyboard users cannot use the search function in the mobile view when using certain assistive technologies
- Skip links within the page cannot be accessed using the keyboard
- The chatbot element may cover elements that are currently in focus
- Text areas in English are not marked with the appropriate language attribute and are therefore mispronounced by screen readers
- PDF documents
Some older PDF documents are not accessible. Newly published PDF documents are generally made available in an accessible format or replaced with one in a timely manner - On some pages, links are sometimes unclear.
We are working damage-resistantt to improve our website. Unfortunately, due to the volume of material, we have not yet been able to make all content and services digitally accessible. We are endeavouring to promptly remove all identified barriers for people with disabilities as part of the next development cycle.
Status of compliance with requirements
Verification of compliance with the
requirements is based on a self-assessment carried out in February 2025.
Reasons for non-accessible content
The content mentioned is not (yet) accessible for the following reasons :
- technical and economic costs
are
- currently disproportionate (Section 12(5) BFSG)
- Legacy content prior to the entry into force of the statutory regulation
We are actively working to remove this barrier.
